Navigating Weight Loss

Welcome to Navigating Weight Loss!

In 2014, I was 425 lbs and normal, everyday tasks were becoming a chore. I’d spent over 30 years of my life trying every possible weight loss strategy available starting with Deal A Meal when I was 13 years old. I’d have success for a short time but long term weight loss always eluded me. By 2014, I was completely done. I needed to change. I started the process for weight loss surgery and never looked back. I had to confront a lot with my weight from why I was eating so much and how to cope with stress when food had always been my coping mechanism. I had RNY Gastric Bypass Surgery on December 3, 2014, and I’ve lost 250lbs, took a flying trapeze class, parasailed in the Bahamas, scaled a high ropes course on a cruise ship in Canada, and completed the NYC Marathon! When I had this surgery I didn’t know a lot of people who had the surgery so I decided I was going to be very open because I wanted to be the resource I was searching for at the beginning of this process. Thank you!
