Have you ever felt the tug of a calling but doubted if you were enough to fulfill it? In this heartfelt and personal episode of Well and Grace, host Regina Bartlett shares her own transformative journey of stepping into God’s calling for her life—a calling she never imagined for herself.
As a natural introvert with a history of public speaking, Regina might seem like an obvious candidate for a speaking ministry. But her path was anything but easy. After years as an atheist, her return to Christ became the most life-changing decision of her life, one marked by both challenges and deep, spiritual renewal. Despite her experience on stages and behind microphones, the idea of speaking about God felt daunting and overwhelming. The weight of sharing His word and the fear of falling short left her questioning if she was truly capable.
In this episode, I reveal how God worked through my fears and doubts when I was first called to ministry. It was a journey I never saw coming, filled with moments of hesitation and feelings of inadequacy. But through it all, God reminded me of a profound truth: He doesn’t call the equipped—He equips those He calls.
For me, stepping forward in faith wasn’t easy. I wrestled with questions like, “Who am I to speak about God?” and “What if I say the wrong thing?” But God was so patient, teaching me to trust Him more deeply. Prayer became my lifeline, a place where I could bring my doubts and seek clarity. My church community played a huge role too, offering encouragement and helping me see gifts I couldn’t see in myself. They reminded me of God’s promises and helped me step out of my comfort zone, one small act of obedience at a time.
If you’ve ever wrestled with self-doubt or wondered if God can use someone like you, my prayer is that this episode will leave you inspired and encouraged as a testament to the faithfulness of a God who sees past our imperfections and works through our willingness.
